Photos in the Park

Hi there!

One of the things I forgot to mention in my last post from my stay in Atlanta, was that my mom and I went to Piedmont Park one evening to have some photos taken.  A good friend of her and my dad's, Miss Jules, was super fun and took the photos.  As you will see, she has an eye for what makes for a good photo.  It was a beautiful evening and I discovered so many fun things to do in the park!  Have a look at some of my favorites from the first part of our time together -- I'll post some more good ones soon!

Adventures in the City

This has been quite an exciting week for me!  Since my parents are getting the walls redone in my bedroom and the other rooms upstairs, my mom and I got to take a trip to my Mimi and G-daddy's condo in Atlanta.  What fun!  There was so much to see and do while we were there -- I'll try to hit the high points.

First off, we did a lot of walking - since my grandparents place is right in the city, there's really no need to drive anywhere.  What a concept!  You can see here how cozy I was strollering --

Mimi and I did lots and lots of playing - here's an action shot --

We found a stand of these big, round, orange things that I've never seen before, but are all over the place these days.  They were great to climb around on!  Here - take a look and let me know what you think they are --

Then we went to this huge garden area, right downtown, where I got to crawl all over the place and smell lots of different types of flowers.  Here's a shot of me and Mimi dancing to some music that was playing --

I finally got to come home and see my Daddy this weekend, and it really feels like Fall out!  I got to get all bundled up in a new hat and mittens for our walk this morning... I think it makes me look tough!

Time to go practice the Ramblin' Wreck song before the football game today -- Go Jackets!

My First Bike Ride

Crazy new stuff today!  I was hanging out with my mom while my dad put together something big.  I wasn't sure what it was; actually, I had no idea.  He put it all together and then he and mom got their bikes (I know what these are because I have a giraffe bicycle).  Anyway, so my dad put me in this trailer, hooked it up to his bike, and we rode all over town!  I have to be honest, I wasn't all that excited about it to begin with.  New stuff, and I had to sit back in a trailer without my parents.  But then after we got going, I got used to it and it was a lot of fun!

Here are some actions shots!  Like I said, my dad was pulling me, so my mom took the pictures.  That's me in the back with the awesome helmet on!

Obviously, I had a great time on the ride, but it's always nice to be back in my mommy's arms.

We were famished after riding around the lake, so afterwards we went to get some lunch.  Dad said it was National Hot Dog Day, so you can probably guess what he had.  Me?  I had cereal, but as you can see, I had a great time anyway!

There's more summer fun to be had, but this was a fun day.  Nap time.  Talk to you soon!

One Crazy Summer

If you remember my last post, I started this summer off with a trip to Massachusetts. It was a really fun week, walking around town, going to parks, taking long stroller rides. We even went to the Connecticut River! Connecticut River On that trip, I started eating with my parents. Before that, I ate, and then they ate, and I just sat there bored, watching them. But since there was sliced melon at breakfast, I got to eat that with them! Lots of fun, and I've been eating with them ever since. Potatoes, carrots, broccoli, apples, pears, prunes, peaches, plums, and tons of cereal. The best part is that now that I'm getting teeth, I've worked my way up to cookies! Smiling with Teeth In that picture, I've only got my bottom two, but now I've got two on the bottom, three on the top, and one more on the top working it's way through.

In late June, my parents bought me a play mat, so I could play around on the floor without bumping my head. That made everything a lot more fun. Check it out! Playmat It didn't take long until I started pulling myself up on things and crawling. Watch me pull myself up on this little table! Then, on July 21, I took my first crawl across the mat! Not even eight months old and I was crawling all over the place! I've gotten better and better at crawling and barely need the playmats anymore. I go all over the house and the yard and everything!

I'm actually crawling right now, getting into stuff I'm probably not supposed to, so that's all for now. I'll get back to you later! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Our first day in Massachusetts

Wow - who knew that Massachusetts would be such a fun place for me and my family?  The weather is perfect for us to be outside and enjoy it - much cooler than Georgia this time of year!  We are staying in the small college town of Northampton in the western side of the state, and you can tell that the folks up here really enjoy this time of year because everyone is outside walking, biking, and just enjoying it in general.

My parents and I decided to follow the locals and go for a long walk up to Look Park.  It was a great way to see the area, and we traveled along a bike path for most of the way so we got to avoid lots of car traffic.  Here's how we went -

I got a little tired of riding in my stroller on the way up there, so I got my first ever piggy-back ride!  I enjoyed "steering" my daddy by pulling his hair on either side of his head.

Here are some more photos of what we did throughout the day - including my first "train" ride, my first boat ride, and my first visit to a zoo!

Phew!  It was all pretty exhausting, but I can't wait to do it again tomorrow  :)

My first airplane ride

My mommy got the hair-brained idea that she wanted to have me and my daddy accompany her on a work trip to Massachusetts -- did she even realize how much stuff I require for a week?!  Of course, that also meant that I got to take my first airplane ride - yipee!  Here's a few photos of me before, during, and after the flight (just so you know I survived!):

Check back in soon - I'll be updating with some of the fun activities I'll be doing up here in Massachusetts!

6 Month's Half Birthday!

Yesterday I turned 6 months old! My parents threw a surprise 6 month / half birthday party for me. I got a balloon, which was awesome! I also got to open some presents - clothes and a teddy bear. I really needed a teddy bear of my own, because I found my mom's old one, but I don't think I can keep it. The one I got is very soft and much more my size. Don't worry, you didn't miss anything, my parents took a video of the whole party. Since we last spoke, I've been up to a lot of stuff. I added some new foods to my appetite: peas, carrots, and cereal. Peas are, well, ok, but kind of weird. Carrots were delicious. The cereal is a little bland after all these fruits and vegetables, but I'll take it!

I also took my first trip to the beach! It was a long ride - more than 6 hours in the car, along with my dogs (yes, they're mine now). I went with my Mimi and G-Daddy who also brought their dog. As you can imagine, it was a madhouse with all these dogs and people. Everybody was apparently eating lots of seafood, whatever that is. It was pretty nice, though, long stroller rides on the beach, morning and night.

I'm working on standing. I've got a way to go on balance, but I'm getting there. It works best if I have something to reach for and somebody to make sure I don't fall. Check this out! Standing on couch And just for fun, here's a shot of me relaxing with Mommy! IMG 0804 One last shot, from my half birthday party, in the Georgia Tech outfit I got from my cousins when I was born: Georgia Tech Pyjamas Alright, that's all for now. I've got to take a nap. See you all again soon! love,
Charlie
